About College Connection

What is College Connection?

The goal of this program is to ensure that seniors in TC’s service area have full acceptance to at least one post-secondary institution by graduation. TC introduces seniors to the idea of going to college, aids seniors to complete their first college application via www.ApplyTexas.org, educates students on the financial aid process, and provides students with reduced-price assessment testing at our on-campus testing facility.

  • College Connection was created in response to the State of Texas' Closing the Gaps initiative.
    • The state's goal is to increase student enrollment in higher education by 630,000 by 2015.
    • TC’s goal is to increase student enrollment in higher education by 5,000 more students by 2015.
  • Many high school students find the college enrollment process intimidating, so TC will provide hands-on assistance to every local student through each step of the college admissions process.
  • The College Connection partnership opens doors to the variety of options that exist beyond high school.
  • TC provides hands-on to assist every local student through each step of the college admissions process.
  • Upon graduating from High School, each participating student will be conditionally accepted into TC.
