Work-Study Opportunities

Candidates will provide support to the staff in the Office of Student Financial Aid as an assistant in the office. Responsibilities include assisting with answering telephone calls from students and parents regarding the financial aid process, collecting daily documents received in the office and distributing to the appropriate staff, preparing and scanning documentation for electronic filing, filing, and assisting office staff with reports and other record maintenance as needed. Qualifications: Applicants must complete the FAFSA and be eligible for Federal Work-Study. All applicants must have a G.P.A. of 2.0 or better and 75% completion rate. The candidate should possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail and efficiency. Must be dependable and have a strong desire to provide quality customer service to our students. Previous office experience not required.

Admissions & Records student workers must: have a 2.0 GPA. be able to file by alpha(main responsibility), be detail oriented, have customer service experience, be able to answer phones, be able to use the fax, help with mailing and folder labeling, and other duties that may be required in office setting.

The candidate will work directly under the supervision of the Coordinator of Student Accommodations. The work study employee is responsible for clerical duties assigned in all areas of the office. JOB DUTIES 1. Answer the telephone when assigned 2. Assist with filing 3. Assist with typing 4. Perform receptionist duties 5. Knowledge of office machine/equipment 6. Run errands within the campus (bookstore, media center, etc.) 7. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor JOB SPECIFICATIONS 1. Must dress appropriately for work at all times 2. Must be punctual at all times (tardiness will be cause for dismissal) 3. Must advise supervisor when unable to report to work 4. Office equipment is for work related activities 5. Use of personal cell phone or other electronic devices must be kept to a minimum and must not interfere with work activity
